In New DJS We Trust! | UPCOMING ARTIST FRIDAYS #02

A space for all those speaker destroyers coming right up from the underground to the glam of PR's club scene. We've got a collection of a few very talented individuals serving all kinds of electronic music goodness from indie electro to hard-stepping drum and bass.

THIS WEEK'S ARTISTS ARE:

-E ROD-
Egy Rodriguez at just 14 years old started to dj and pursue his musical interest. These included recording, mixing, and producing his very own beats, so while most teenagers were fixed on driving a car for the first time, Egy Rodriguez was on a path to fulfilling a career that most musicians would never come to recognize in this lifetime.
Like all hard work that pays off, by the age of 23, Egy Rodriguez was successful at conquering his first Latin Grammy as a recording engineer for the multi platinum selling album "Los 40 AƱos del Gran Combo". He has also been nominated several times for the American Grammy’s for recording some latin music albums.
Not only is he creating fresh beats behind the scenes, he is also performing his music live in some clubs in Puerto Rico, like Kali where he’s been the resident Dj for the last 4 years. You may also have spotted him playing alongside Roni Size, John B, Designer Drugs, Hatiras, Friction, Hornet (Pendulum), Eddie Dee, Daddy Yankee, Tego Calderon, Don Omar, Vico C, and Wisin y Yandel. Other live sets include the Billboard Club Miami, Palazzo in Toronto, BB King Club NY, and House of Blues in Orlando. It is suffice to say that Egy Rodriguez is most comfortable when he is behind his Serato Scratch Live and Akai MPC 2000XL performing for a crowd that no genre can define.
He is currently working on solo projects that consist of 12 electro and fidget house tracks. All of which have been recorded , produced and composed by Egy Rodriguez himself.

Here's some of his work:

-FAT PHET-
On the other hand we've got the one and only Fat Phet, a talented Producer/DJ with a very tasty selection of electro sounds.
This guy was originally established on the south of PR, where the electro scene has had a great response and a very special crowd following closely the few DJS that execute their favorite tracks on a fresh and proper way. He is now headquartered at Rio Piedras, the place to be inspired and even influenced on the making of electro tunes.

With a few unreleased remixes of known artists such as, Rich Boy, M.I.A & Kavinsky, Fat Phet has captured the attention of the crowd following this electronic music sub-genre and has even gained several fans and followers.

This up and coming artist lets his dj sets flow with tropical sounds, glitchy synths and impeccable melodies swimming in deep bass lines.

Here are some free goodies from Fat Phet:

Drop Down!! Tonite Different Kind of Drugs Hit PR's Electro Scene!!

The Electro movement on the island is here to stay, since late 2007 we've been witness to more than 20 electro acts including MSTRKRFT, The Bloody Beetroots, Felix Cartal, LA Riots, Danger!, Boys Noize, Treasure Fingers, Computer Club, Le Castle Vania and many many others, But tonight we've got a very sweet treat coming from NYC and it's non other than the Electro Duo:

DESIGNER DRUGS [NYC]
Designer Drugs (Michael Vincent Patrick and Theodore Paul Nelson) lead lifestyles of the rich and famous, but are really just poor boys who love helicopters and pop banger music…and a few other things that will not be noted. Currently, Designer Drugs is releasing new material with iheartcomix Records. They’ve also been found partying on the couch at the Iheartcomix office. With one member attending med school and the other drinking whiskey across the globe, to keep from going crazy last year - the DD boys produced over 23 remixes and DJ’d over 100 shows around the world. This year, to keep from going crazy, Designer Drugs is putting the focus on original material while continuing to tour the galaxy and party harder than ever.

Most recently, Designer Drugs released their single
Zombies! / Back Up In ThisNadastrom, Don Rimini, Le Castle Vania and Bird Peterson. Designer Drugs has also completed remixes for labels such as Kitsune, Dim Mak, Fools Gold, Warner Brothers, Ministry Of Sound, Hail Social, Iamsound, Etc Etc, Coco Machette and Calamity Jane for artists such as Little Boots, The Veronicas, Thieves Like Us, Treasure Fingers, Mariah Carey, Jupiter One, Heart’s Revolution, Mission Control, Hail Social, and IAMX.
on Iheartcomix Records, in 2009 with Remixes by

Both members of Designer Drugs are mentally controlled by ELLE REX (www.ellerex.net), photographer of NYC’s sleaziest and most entertaining electro party - RUFF CLUB. You can find her tagging along to shows, documenting the debauchery that ensues when DD takes the decks. What will happen next? You haven’t partied until you’ve partied with Designer Drugs!

Whoever They Think The Bad Guys Are

"City brawls, hardcore binging, dodging the heat and making moves…
Misterio’s “Criminal” EP is the new soundtrack for your crime filled nights."

Misterio is the founder of Tekadisko Records,
also a very good performer with sounds based on tropical beats, glitchy synths, wobble bass and a hell of a repertory of his own missiles ready to make you bounce "'till you get enough". Tekadisko started in 2007 known then as "DISCOS DANSER", with merely some Dj's and producers; that suddenly changed when the group had almost 10 to 15 members embracing pretty much every electronic music sub-genres including elecro, techno, IDM, Hip Hop, Rap, Indie and lots more.

Now with a much fresher look, thanks to Misterio's art design, which you can appreciate from the Tekadisko website (http://www.tekadisko.com) to every single flyer art and album cover, Tekadisko is evolving alongside every single movement in pop culture and underground music, always making sure to keep their good stuff fresh.
